Harry Dresden - I'm typically located in Chicago, but I get around a bit when it's necessary. (No spoilers for Changes - at least, not now and not in public. XD)

Bars are bars, they're useful that way, Moist's found. This one isn't one he knows terribly well but give him time and you'll never see him looking worried unless its in character.
So he's found a table and he's playing with a worn deck of cards and watching all the people go by.
So, I find myself walking into a bar. Dimly lit - the place, not me, though I suppose the light on me is dim too, making me dimly lit as well - dark in the corners. Bar-like. Really, who would expect a bar to be bright and sparkling? It's a bar. Darkness and dirt are part of the ambiance.
Anyway, I walk into this bar and, from all outward appearances, it looks pretty typical of your standard pub. There's a bar and barstools and tables surrounded by chairs. And a guy with a deck of cards in the corner. That's not altogether unusual for a bar either.
The guy with the cards is nodding at me. General acknowledgment of existence, I guess, though I could know him from somewhere and not remember. Hey, it does happen. I'm a wizard and a detective, but those two don't sum up to 'automatic photographic memory'.
No sense being rude, so I nod back and approach the bar. I need a drink before engaging the public. Even if the public is just one guy. It's been a long day. A really long day.
I blink - more than normal. Did he just talk to the bar? Ask it for a drink? That seems an odd thing to do. Unless this is a magic bar.
Now, typically, I'd be the last to scoff at the potential for 'magic', but we're talking about a piece of furniture having the capability for production of material items. That would be complicated and powerful magic.

"From what I've heard the ones at the University don't like to cook but if need be, they can always conjure something. Apparently all the best cooks in Ankh-Morpork train there."
Also every wizard that Moist's seen on the streets tends to have some food with them somewhere.
'The Disc'? Not sure I've heard of that one. Have to dig around for more information.
"Chicago," I say in response to his query. But, I have one of my own. "What's 'the Disc'?" Is it a strange alternate dimension or somewhere in the Nevernever?
"Pleasure, Alfred. I'm Harry." I brush my fingers across the fine grain of the bar and ask, "How, exactly, does one get a drink here?" Because talking to the furniture seems a little silly.

When Harry enters, he notices him since Harry's hard to miss and nods.
Moist is trying to figure out what he does, he's not wearing any of the useful identifiers from the Disc.

"Thank you. Its magic, I've found its best not to think too much about it. That's what wizards are for."

Though they might be less annoying if they could.

The Disc has rather odd geography but Moist is also learning that not everyone here even knows that it exists.

It all makes sense in context, sort of.

"Really?" I ask. It sounds a lot more far-fetched than my world. And that's say something.
