The grin gets wider.

"I might have to insist you buy me dinner first just on principle."

She laughs.

"Deal. We can see what comes second after that."

(Go on, go for the joke in there, we're all thinking it.)

"What's your name, handsome?"

"I was thinking you."

(Like he's really going to let that opportunity pass by twice.)

He doesn't (quite) hesitate before adding, "You can call me Ken."

(The joke will make her laugh later, he knows; he wants to see this through.)

"And what do I get to call you?"

She grins, and gets up to saunter over to a closer chair, extending a hand.

"You get to call me Sweetheart. Nice to meet you, Ken."

Charmed," he murmurs, lifting her her hand to brush a kiss across her knuckles.
