His reactions are certainly interesting, and enough to catch Trudy's attention. She is not nearly so nicely dressed - flightsuit, wavy black hair pulled back into a ponytail, gun - but she's never let that stop her.
"New, are you?" American accent, Texan via New Jersey.
"What do you mean, new?" he asks, accent American by way of no place in particular, the voice of any inoffensive and charming businessman. It's too early for her face to mean anything to him--a photograph in the dossier of a crash survivor--so he stares at her as he would any other stranger.
"You," Fletcher points out, sliding in front of Richard and pointing at his nose, seemingly ready to poke it and go boop!, "Are new."
A few heartbeats later, he adds, "I know this because of the look on your face." It are a fact, his learnings, etc. "You've clearly never seen a holey-that's with an 'e', not holy like religious holy-rat before. Aye?"
"So, ah, what exactly is this place? I assume you've been here for a while, so maybe you can give me an explanation."
That look, that 'you're a strange man' look has gone away, been concealed by that composed mask Richard tends to wear whenever the initial surprise has passed.

"Can't say I have," he replies, voice calm and almost nonchalant if it weren't for that bewildered edge to it.

"Ha!" Insert victory arms here. "I knew it."
And that's all Richard's going to get out of him unless he asks what the hell is going on, or something to that effect.
