"It isn't a matter for discussion, Captain.  See to it that the healer gets what she needs and I will make sure that your kind gesture does not go unrewarded."

The veiled woman in floor length grey robes stoops to enter the pavilion, one hand holding back the heavy flap of the tent, and her head only lifting at the last moment.

"Oh thank heavens."  One hand rises to her face, detaching her veil from one side and tucking it behind the opposite ear.  "I haven't had hot tea in a month."
There's a beat-to-hell television set planted on a corner of the bar.  Old school.  Slightly charred black plastic box wrapped around a huge picture tube, with the little threaded metal stems where the channel knobs have been snapped off.

It's looping on static now, but every so often, there's a face in the snow...
Gilbert is tucked up in a booth, a huge mug of hot chocolate and today's copy of the New York Times before him, and he doesn't look happy.  Not one little bit.  The nicotine patch on his arm might have something to do with that.  Or the headlines from Haiti.  Or any number of reasons, really.

He's using his fingertip to drown the little marshmallows one after another and they keep popping right back up to the surface.  The whole of the universe seems to be running contrary these days.
This is new.  Worm blinks up at the gargantuan room he's discovered himself in, his eyes wide with astonishment.  He inches forward, down the bar, dodging a few beer mugs and making his way past someone's dinner.

"Cor blimey, wait until I tell the Missus about this place.  She'll never believe me!"

Watch your elbows!
It's long after dusk has fallen on Pandora when she makes her excuses and leaves to go hunting.  But her heart isn't in it.  And it isn't long before she finds herself back at the entrance to the ruined command modules.  Jhakesuli doesn't know she comes here, but the power cells still hold some life yet.  And she's been watching the recordings of his human self.  She's not sure just how she feels about them yet.

But any concerns she still holds are swept from her thoughts when she stoops to exit the craft, and ends up in -- this place.
