She'd stepped in to get a moment of peace because that wasn't going to happen amidst the gossip and chatter of the break room. She's curled up in a chair with a salad and iced tea next to her and she's flipping through a magazine with a little smile on her face.

He always seemed to come up to her like this, from behind with his hands already kneeding her shoulder.

He presses a kiss to the top of her head.

"Rough day, Bethie?"

She smiles and hums in pleasure.

"No, not rough, simply surprising."

He raises an eyebrow.

"Feel like sharing?"

"Oh, yes, you'll share in this."

She stands and kisses him.

"Have a seat."

"What'd you get up for then?"

But he kisses her before settling down on the couch next to the chair, arms open.

"Hit me."

She settles into his lap and wraps her arms around his neck.

"Remember how we said Rebekah would be the last one?"

She kisses him again and plows on.

"Well, Someone with a quirky sense of humor has had a very funny way of showing me that we don't get to make that choice, and that Orthotricyclin doesn't stop your sperm."

He nods to the first... and then blinks.

And waits.

And lets out a soft, amused laugh.

"Boy or girl?"

He still sounds excited at the prospect.

"Not sure yet, but we'll know in a couple of months."

She cuddles in and kisses his cheek.

"I sort of think this one might be a boy. We have a lot of girls."

She sounds excited too. They've had enough children that this should seem old hat to them, but it's always an adventure for Bethany.

He's grinning.

"Doesn't matter. I'm already in love with them."

He runs a hand across her belly and leans down to press a kiss.

"You hear that? I'm already in love with you."

Then he lifts his head and smiles at her.

"And I'm always in love with you, Bethie..."

She pulls him up for a long, deep, slow kiss.

"Guess this means no champagne with dinner tonight, though."

She looks down and puts her hand over his on her belly.

"But this is the best Valentine ever."

He tips his hand up to entwine their fingers with a smile.

"But I do put out some of the finest sparkling apple cider you've ever seen."

"If you can round up that and some mercury-free grilled fish I'm yours."

"That's what I was planning on," he answers with a smile, kissing her once, twice, and holding her tight.

She turns to straddle his lap and deepen the kiss.

"Love you too, Zeke, so much."

He laughs and wraps his arms around before eyeing the door.

"Mine goes back to the house. Care to come with me, Bethie?"

"Yeah, we're closing up early this afternoon. I think they can handle the last couple of hours without me."

She wraps her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist.
