She'd stepped in to get a moment of peace because that wasn't going to happen amidst the gossip and chatter of the break room. She's curled up in a chair with a salad and iced tea next to her and she's flipping through a magazine with a little smile on her face.

He presses a kiss to the top of her head.
"Rough day, Bethie?"

"No, not rough, simply surprising."

"Feel like sharing?"
Reply
She stands and kisses him.
"Have a seat."
Reply
But he kisses her before settling down on the couch next to the chair, arms open.
"Hit me."
Reply
"Remember how we said Rebekah would be the last one?"
She kisses him again and plows on.
"Well, Someone with a quirky sense of humor has had a very funny way of showing me that we don't get to make that choice, and that Orthotricyclin doesn't stop your sperm."

And waits.
And lets out a soft, amused laugh.
"Boy or girl?"
He still sounds excited at the prospect.

She cuddles in and kisses his cheek.
"I sort of think this one might be a boy. We have a lot of girls."
She sounds excited too. They've had enough children that this should seem old hat to them, but it's always an adventure for Bethany.

"Doesn't matter. I'm already in love with them."
He runs a hand across her belly and leans down to press a kiss.
"You hear that? I'm already in love with you."
Then he lifts his head and smiles at her.
"And I'm always in love with you, Bethie..."

She pulls him up for a long, deep, slow kiss.
"Guess this means no champagne with dinner tonight, though."
She looks down and puts her hand over his on her belly.
"But this is the best Valentine ever."

"But I do put out some of the finest sparkling apple cider you've ever seen."

"If you can round up that and some mercury-free grilled fish I'm yours."

"God, I love you."

"Love you too, Zeke, so much."

"Mine goes back to the house. Care to come with me, Bethie?"

She wraps her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist.
