Spock / NewTrek 2009 / Barways

[In the Universe that now includes this...]

He had not been back to the Enterprise in days. Certainly, he had every confidence he was really there due to the way the anomaly worked-- pocket time flow, return to point of origin, so on and so forth. Very illogical, but it was how the place worked. You went back to where you had been, as if nothing had happened.

Even if everything possibly could happen.

The grounds had been walked. Room attained.

And still, he was-- reserved, even for Spock. It was hard to tell -- even for those who know him, but something was Wrong. Something that was not... quite right.

But maybe it's grief. Maybe it's just -- time, taking it's toll. Maybe it's simply he's been alone with his thoughts too often of late. But under that placid lake of his logic, there is a frenzied shark waiting...

He drinks his tea, a book in hand, and says nothing to anyone. He is alone. So very, very alone.

Except where he isn't.
