It was a beautiful day in California, and after smoking a bowl of purple haze, Jane had decided that she was going to take advantage of it by taking a dip in the pool

Hearing the man speak up, Jane instantly freaked out. "What? What did I do?!" She asked loudly as she waved her arms frantically with worry that a bee was on her or something. There was no exact reason for why a bee would be around her, but she thought that one was.
Jane takes his arm with just a little hesitation and settles when they arrive at the bar, putting her bag on the bar. "Did she leave you?" Jane asked carefully.
"She-- no. No. That wasn't it. She tried to love me, I know she did. And maybe, in a strange way, she loves me now. But she doesn't know who I am, who anyone is."
Except him.
He sits down and actually touches his blindfold this time.
"When I visit her, I have to wear this. I've had to ever since I was ten. I can see just fine, even with it on, but she can't see my eyes. So I kind of got used to wearing it all the time, just in case I bump into her."
Jane was expecting something crazy when he took off his blindfold. Like X-Men Cyclops eyes or something. So, she was a little let down when she just saw a pair of grey-ish eyes, but she tried not to show it. "...she's confused?"
"Oh, man. I don't know what to say." A beat. "I'll keep a lookout for you. You don't have to wear that blindfold all the time." Jane assured him, despite not even knowing what to look out for; she had no idea what his mother looked like.
He smiles, almost looking....younger when he does.
"That's kind of you. I guess, I don't know of she even comes here anymore, what she would be like if she did, but you would be looking out for a pale woman with violet eyes and hair like mine."
Cepheus indicates his black curls.
"Her name is Mia."
It's here that he realizes he hasn't introduced himself or know his company's name.
"I'm Jane and you got it, Cepheus. I definitely got your back." Jane said with a nod and smile before she got the sudden compulsion to grab the bag of cheetos from her beach bag.
Well, handsome except she can't see his eyes.
He still seems to notice the new arrival and lifts his head from his cup of tea.
"Hmm?"

He gets up in case she needs some help.
"I don't know why I'm here either, but I know where we are, and that's a start. This is Milliways."

"I.....don't know anything. About any of my grandparents. I hardly-"
Cepheus reaches for his blindfold for a moment but stops himself.
"I hardly even know my own mother."

He "looks" around a little, making sure none of his family is around.
"I guess I can let you see."
He takes his blindfold off.
"I can't let her see my eyes because I have my father's eyes. My father is the reason why she's..."
Cepheus trails off, pressing his lips together. He didn't want to say it about his mother, never that, but there's no other word for it.
