Dobby the House Elf; Harry Potter, just before Chamber of Secrets; A Bar Type Place
Dobby was a bit surprised as he came into what he thought was Harry Potter's bedroom. He knew Harry Potter was a great wizard, no doubt of that, but this seemed a bit extravagant for a wizard that he knew was just about to go into second year.
It looked more like the places where his family would go, the sort of places he would work to upkeep. Wizard places. Pureblood wizard places. Not number 4 Privet Drive.
He wrings the bottom of his pillowcase a little, looking around.
"Should Dobby be cleaning something?" he wonders, mostly to himself.

We also don't mind spoilers for later canon, because it would make Dobby OH SO HAPPY to find out that he'll both be free AND he'll get to help Harry.]
