Lotsa Pups / Milliways

Today sees several familiar faces in the bar.

One, Desmond Hume, this time in one of the armchairs, content to watch the people going by. He is, noticeably, cleaned up. Not far off, two individuals are poring over a clothing catalog. Whether they will actually be purchasing anything is debatable, but they seem to be having fun anyhow (if you're ( Read more... )

Tiwa would not consider herself terribly leerworthy and so gives Theodore a cautious smile when she walks by him.

Well now, that all depends on how one defines their standards, doesn't it?

T-Bag, well. His are pretty low.

Tiwa's cautious smile is met with a crooked one - not exactly a leer, but mighty close.

"Evenin'."

"Hello, what are you looking at?"

She headtilts back at him as she tries to place his accent.

"Just your pretty face, missy. Hopin' you don't mind, 'course."

(100% Alabama, that accent)

Dragon is bored.

She is curled up in an armchair, hair the same colours as the fire. She's grown tired of the fish, and so her bright blue eyes are scanning the room.

Desmond, being close by, gets studied more than most.

The scrutiny - is a little troubling. It's an itch that Desmond manages to shake off; the rules state that grudges can't be carried into the bar. He has no need to worry, does he?

He offers Dragon a polite smile and a nod in greeting.

The girl frowns a little at him, studies a bit more.

"Not happy?" She asks at last, hesitantly.

He shakes his head.

"Relishin' a bit o' silence, sister."

Look out, catalog viewers, a rather stylishly clothed man is traipsing past.

...Yes, traipsing. Wearing the latest in suit fashion, at least for 2009. And clutching a well-worn notebook to his chest.

You know magnetic sculptures?

You know the way you put the block thing down, and then you shake out the little magnets, and the magnets all go stick to the block?

Traipsy Man and Joe are kind of like that.

Traipsy Man, who would quite enjoy the name if he was clued into it, takes a moment to notice he has a magnetic follower.

When he does, he stops abruptly and beams at Joe.

"Hi!"

HE TALKS

Joe grins right back, as brightly as a medium-sized burning thing.

"Hi!"

If words could sparkle, Joe's would be.

Alec, being who and what he is, veers towards the table with the ski catalog. He gives the man an appraising look before saying, "You're about as out of tough with reality as I am, I think."

Joe looks up, beaming.

"I try to make it obvious."

Alec grins back. "You're doing a good job! I approve!"

Approval of him as a person has never been of much importance to Joe, but he appreciates it anyway.

"Thank you very much!"

"What's wrong with your hand." By that statement it's easy to see who Alex is talking to. He's perched on a table next to Theodore, looking rather pretty as always with the tight clothes and make-up.

His master is near by, a few tables away, reading a romance novel.

Normally, this would be cause for some suitably insulting-yet-pithy remark, but, seeing as the boy's pretty? T-Bag can make an exception.

"It's a prosthetic job, sonny," he says, displaying the fingers for a moment before pulling the sleeve with his good hand.

"Not quite as capable, but a sight better'n a stump."

Alex is insanely pretty, and exotic. He tilts his head for a moment before hopping off his table. Despite not having permission he goes over and gives the prosthetic hand a quick jab.

"How does it work?" he asks. "Was there a lot of blood? What did you do with your hand? Does it hurt?"

This causes T-Bag to grimace, although he quickly folds it out into a sort of smile.

"Acts like, looks like, feels like a paralyzed limb, Curious George. Don't hurt anymore, no. But when it went, you can bet it wasn't pretty."
