Jane enters the Bar grumbling under her breath about Tom Lefroy and his ego. It takes her a moment to realize where she is and she takes a deep breath to collect herself as she tries to recall how to get a mug of tea.

Barty is sitting at a table, engrossed in a medical journal (written in Braille, naturally).
He's well within her line of sight, though, if she'd like to distract him.

He is a welcome sight and she gently touches his arm which she normally wouldn't do,
"Pardon me, Barty? I seem to have found myself here again."

He recognizes her voice immediately. (he's good like that.)
"Jane!" And he sounds delighted to hear her, too. "It's good to hear from you again."

She does her best to quickly look around, she's not sure how she feels about seeing Tom again.

He taps the page he's on, absently. "This is a study on leukemia."

She sits down and finds a waitrat, trying to just picture that the rat is simply a waiter,
"Would you like something? Leukemia, I'm afraid that word isn't familiar to me."

"I'd take an orange soda, sure," he says with a smile.
"Leukemia is a form of cancer. Do you recognize that word?"

"I have heard of cancer poison but I'm afraid that I'm not truly a reader of scientific journals."

"I doubt the research is as advanced in your time," Barty says thoughtfully. "At any rate, it's cancer of the blood or, in this case, bone marrow."
