Goddesses, even potential goddesses, do not allow themselves to be taken by surprise. Neither, for that matter, do Time Ladies.

At least, that's what Jenny believes the Master would tell her if she were to ever ask. Regardless, this clearly isn't her room. Nor does she recall her Master ever mentioning any bar on the TARDIS

It's a good thing Arnold's still young enough to think girls are icky as a general principle. Otherwise Jenny's attire would be doing a real number on him.

As it is, he gives her a curious glance from his seat at the bar where he's enjoying a root beer float.

"Are you on your way to a party?"

Jenny looks over the boy, raising one eyebrow. Oh, they'll let anyone in here, won't they?

"No."

"Oh, well, you look very nice."

It's not as though she's the strangest person he's met in the bar, there's no point in not being polite.

"I'd hope so," she answers with a bright smile. It's an innocent enough looking smile. "I try to, every day!"

[mm_mono]

"You dress like that every day? Wow, are you an actress?"

[bitunlikely]

As if she'd ever stoop that low. Although perhaps there was something of an actress in her. There had to be in order to pull of some of the things she's done.

"No." Grin. "Something far better."

[mm_mono]

Oooh.

"What?"

[bitunlikely]

"A goddess."

She giggles ever so much as she smiles at him.

[mm_mono]

"No way."

He does look shocked and amazed, though.

Exactly the reaction she's going for. Jenny beams at him and nods and then gives him the smallest of pouts.

"Don't believe in gods?"

[mm_mono]

"Well, I've certainly never met one before!"

Now he looks a little excited. She's got his full attention, for sure.

Jenny catches on to the excitement easily enough, letting it reflect back in her own eyes.

"Really?"

[mm_mono]

"Of course not!"

And he sounds just a bit incredulous.

"Unless gods just walk around without telling people who they are. But if I were a god, I think I'd tell somebody."

[bitunlikely]

"There's no fun in keeping it secret," she agrees. "Unless... no."

Jenny shakes her head.

"No fun at all."

"What're you the goddess of, then?"

Just a curious little boy.

[bitunlikely]

"Time," she answered as her lips curled into a small little smile.

The lights from the Vortex dance in front of her eyes and, for a moment, Jenny forgets the boy is there.

"All of time and space."
