"Hey, Tommy. Ever heard of alternate universes?" Tommy's reclining at the bar, reading Dune.

Tommy frowns, but joins Teddy at the Bar (at a sensible speed, so as not to spill his drink).

"No, I don't watch your nerdy sci fi shows, remember?"

Which is a little contradictory, if he knows it's a sci fi thing, but he thinks it gets the point across anyway.

Teddy sighs, longsufferingly. Must learn to get along with boyfriend's family. Even if they are so not related.

"All right, then. I know you're not slow, so you should be able to get this, Tommy. This is a bar called Milliways. See that window out there?" He points. "It's at the end of the universe. But by some kind of magic, it's stuck there; doesn't get destroyed. People from worlds and universes get stuck here, and just get to hang out."

He pauses. "Got that so far?"

Tommy slurps his drink again, though he's actually listening this time, and follows along with the visual presentation.

"--oh hey that's pretty weird."

He stares, head tilted -- then gives Teddy a thumbs up.

"Got it. So like, this place is full of aliens and everything? No offence, you know, I like aliens."

The brother's not behind him, but he is in front of him.

"Oh, great."

"Oh great yourself."

Sometimes, Tommy's speech does not allow for the pauses associated with commas.

He points behind him.

"Why aren't you in Manhattan?"

"Because I'm in Milliways."

This is said with the tone of someone who thinks you're stupid, Tommy.

"And so are you."

"No shit, bro. Is that what this place is called?"

He glances around quickly, then folds his arms to make a point.

"You're a little young to be in a bar."

Will sees him enter, facepalms and walks over with a bit of squelch,

"Was wonderin' when ye'd get 'ere."

(OOC: No idea when he's coming in from but couldn't resist, yay Tommy!)

"...that's great for you, buddy. Well, I'm here -- break out the marching band."

Tommy is looking at Will with no recognition in his eyes.

"Kate an I are together is all, we've briefly met in New York."

It is not often that Tommy requires a pause of any kind.

"Nope, don't know," but this doesn't seem to bother him quite as much now. "Wish I did, though -- pretty snazzy establishment here."

"........But I told all of you, even you when you bothered standing still long enough. Wait, when is it for you? What's going on back home?" Could be just time off or could be alternate worlds.

"Haven't figured that out yet, either," says a helpful Bart. "But there was living dough a while back so it's probably an improvement."

Don't think Tommy didn't notice that! It's not often people can watch him and actually see him. Actually, 'never' up to now, since he hasn't met Quicksilver.

"Living dough?"

He speeds over to Bart to eye him more closely, not caring that this spills a little bit of frappuccino over his hand.

"...bread or cookies?"

"Think it was bread. Or it thought it was bread, anyway."
