Ben's flight took off a few hours ago.

Max didn't get any sleep after that.

When he groggily slid off the couch at 5:30 to get ready for work, his bedroom door led to Milliways instead.

Now, Juliet's not the only one crashing by the fireplace. While Max is kind of annoyed that he's spending time here while time back home is frozen (which means he'll be away from Ben for even longer), he's very thankful that he doesn't have to go in to work just yet.

So there he is, sprawled sideways on a loveseat, staring blearily up at the ceiling.

When Juliet does, eventually, look up, she sees Max.

"Hey."

The greeting doesn't register until about fifteen seconds later.

Max turns his head, sees Juliet, and blinks.

"Oh - hi."

"You look tired."

"Yeah. Kinda," he says, barely able to stifle a yawn.

"Stupid Chief, scheduling flights for 3 AM..."

Pause.

Yes, Max has just realized who he's talking to.

"... you! You were completely wrong about him!"

Blink.

"Wrong about who?"

"Ben!"

Don't think he forgot, Juliet!

"Yes. You were," Max says, and his expression turns absolutely lovestruck within a split second.

"Very wrong."

Juliet looks confused and cynical. With a sigh, she looks away from Max, and looks a bit more miserable than she did before.

(A lot angrier, too.)

... aw, man.

"Hey - come on. Being wrong isn't such a bad thing, is it?"

"You don't know anything about him," she says flatly. "If you knew anything about him..."

"I know - "

Well, not everything.

"I know enough."

She turns her head towards him. "Do you know what he did to me?"

The word 'no' starts forming on his lips, but then he pauses.

If only he could remember what Ben told him that night they were drunk...

" - no."

"Well, I'll tell you. He brought me to the island, said I'd be there for six months. So I could see my sister give birth. But he didn't let me go at the end of those six months. He told me I could either go and watch my sister die of the cancer he said had come back, or I could stay and help him while he cured my sister's cancer. He kept me on that island for three years, used my sister to keep me there. And you know what else he did? He killed the man I loved. He killed him and showed me his corpse, just to prove to me that I was his."

Beat.

"Now do you want to tell me I'm wrong?"
