Liz Sherman, Hellboy [film], Milliways Bar

Jul 02, 2008 00:59

Liz Sherman is covered in goop. There were a few more choice words for it spoken (shouted) earlier, but 'goop' is ultimately the most descriptive and the most fitting, if not the most colorful, of the possible choices.

This is what she gets for being one of the good guys, she thinks. Drippy green gunk and a shouting match with a swamp thing. Not necessarily in that order.

Her clothes are ruined, but that's not a worry; the B.P.R.D's got stockpiles and stockpiles of very official-looking nondescript black uniforms just like the gooey one she's wearing. She's slightly more concerned about the stink, and how in the hell she's going to get it out of her hair. Even fire hasn't done much for either the slime or the smell.

Except then the door that she opens doesn't lead to her next resort, and Liz isn't thinking about pickled brine and rotting vegetation anymore.

She stares for a few seconds, then closes and re-opens the door.

"Okay," she says. "Whose idea was it to put a bar in the showers?"

(It's a half-serious question.)

A drop of goop hits the floor with a quiet splorch.
