Wes is pretty startled when he walks through the door and gets a magic bar instead of his bedroom. It's been a
while, for him.
Not a long while, though -- his hair's a little shorter, a little neater, but it's the only difference -- and he smiles brightly after a few seconds and heads towards the Bar.
A smoothie and some cookies. That's what he
She watched it fade away. It frightened her...it was her future, gone. Because the Hannibals had taken Zekka and killed him. Or tortured him...probably resulting in his death. She'd stayed upstairs for a few days after that.
Only, even Inyri needs to eat after so many days of living off cigarettes. And she got tired of idly staring at the nail marks across her stomach. She showered, she brushed her teeth, made herself look presentable.
And then she proceeded to nearly eat her weight in the most random food the waitrats would bring her. And then Wes walked back in. She watched him (from across the bar; she'd chosen a dark corner booth) for a long moment before grabbing her sandwich and wandering up to him. "Hey."

"Hey! You're still here. I didn't know if you would be."

It dies when he registers the rest.
"Wait, what happened? Are you okay?

She shrugs again and presses her teeth into her sandwich, forcing herself to take a bite.

"They took him," he echoes, skipping the part where she knows who they even are. "That's ... that's probably good."
(It shouldn't hurt, should it? He couldn't help her himself, couldn't take care of her biggest problem for her, so his not'clones had to do it. There are probably worse people for the job, but...)
"You're not just saying that because the door's gone, are you? Why wouldn't you be able to go back?"

Her voice grows shriller as she speaks, her fingers tight on her sandwich (she's not interested in eating it anymore). "I don't feel right, Wes. I...don't want to go back to see how badly things have screwed up."
It's quite obvious that she means how badly she screwed up.

He eases the sandwich out from between her fingers and puts it on the bar top, not looking away from her face. He takes her hands in his and offers a hopeful smile.
"You don't have to go back even if the door shows up again. Maybe things'll be fixed there, maybe it'll all be fine, but you don't have to worry about it if you don't want to."

Inyri bites her lip and squeezes his fingers. "I've messed up everything."
Reply
"I don't think you have. Guy deserved whatever he got, you know that, so what does a little paradox matter?" He tries another smile. "Anyway, I think I'm way overdue an extended stay here, so don't worry about that."

"'Kay." Inyri nods, compressing her own lips as her fingers fall from his. "Okay."
Reply
"Okay," he echoes with a nod. "And I won't go anywhere, I promise. I-- I missed you."

"So we're still -- I mean, you still want me to stay with you?"

She flashes him a grin before kissing him.
