Rune isn't the sort to ask questions like, 'where am I,' and 'what's going on.' It has a way of detracting from the mysterious, wise, knowledgeable face that he projects to the rest of the universe.
Granted, with a thousand years of other men's memories in his head, not all of that is a face, but just because they're there doesn't mean that they're always readily accessible. Far from it, in fact.
Still, when confronted with something entirely new, instead of flailing about like an obvious tyro, he assumes a contemplative stance.
And tries to figure out where he is, and what's going on.
