Will should be resting but he's bored of the infirmary and so comes out and collapses next to Jamie with a wince.

His clothing is medieval but smells more of a hospital than anything else.

He looks sideways and blinks at the poor young thing.

"I'm here often enough," he said, and he had enough charm that perhaps Will might believe him even though he hadn't ever seen him.

"I just keep out of sight. Today's a good day, though, so I'm havin' myself a drink properly."

"Been gone for a while meself so probably missed ye, sir. I'm Will Scarlett, what are ye drinkin'?"

There's a rather strong touch of envy in his voice, Guppy won't let him drink.

"This is just a beer," he admitted with a faint smile.

"You can have mine if you like. If you're really craving it."

Now Will trusts Guppy and wants to be safe but its beer,

"Pass it o'er then."

He passed it over.

"Got a name, handsome?"

Will looks really confused but takes a good long drink of beer,

He raised an eyebrow before chuckling.

"All right, then."

He's not quite familiar with ancient heroes talking to him.

"Will, as you like. And what brings you here?"

"A chance door. Do ye 'ave a name, sir?"

"Jamie," he said. But the name seemed somewhat stale, as if he hadn't really used it. Something dark hung behind his eyes. Something that the smile hid a second later.

"Jamie Hastings. My pleasure."

"Sound like ye're English."

Darkness is familiar to Will and hands the beer back.

He put it between them without taking a sip.

"My family's from England. We moved to the new world a few years back. It didn't end up doing any good, but my father was trying."
