Tom Riddle is used to people doing what he tells them. Even adults.

Sharp eyes look over at the boy.

His fingers don't stop.

"Why should I care that it annoys you?"

How boring. This isn't someone he can easily make do whatever he wants.

"Never mind." His features settle into a blank, but pleasant, facade. "I have a headache is all."

"That's a pity."

Tap-tap-tap-tap.

"Perhaps you should take something for it," he suggests.

"Perhaps I shall go to the hospital wing when I return."

He stares at Saxon a few more silent minutes.

"Yes?" he asks pointedly after a while.

"You're not like the other Muggles here."

[seemsnice]

That gets a raised eyebrow from him.

"And what is a Muggle?"

[mm_vivien]

"Not a wizard. I hate Muggles. They're ordinary and stupid. But you're not one, are you? You're not a wizard either."

He's met other people who weren't either wizards or Muggles. He can't decide what he thinks about them.

The Master gives him a faintly amused look.

"I most certainly am not," he affirms.

Tom wants to be different, too. Not like anyone else ever.

"Who are you? Tell me."

"Harold Saxon," the Master replies smoothly. "Defence Minister."

[mm_vivien]

He cocks his head. "Defence against what?"

[seemsnice]

"Whatever happens to threaten Great Britain, of course."

[mm_vivien]

"Oh. Why bother? Great Britain is full of fools and Muggles. Mine is, anyway. One day, I'll show them all. They'll need defending from me."

[seemsnice]

"Well, as the Defence Minister, it's rather my job," he points out completely straight-faced.
