Liz manages a sort of smile, it amused her more than she shows as she takes the case to pick out a cigarette. "Yeah, I need a light." She really doesn't want to go there why it makes her than tiny bit sad about having to ask for one.
"Not just the day. Nearly killed then ran away from the cops. Normal day." In the grander scheme of things for Liz it is a pretty normal day, she's had a lot worse.
"Thanks," She says before taking a long drag from the cigarette, holding the breath a moment before letting it go. Letting it relax her just a little bit. Still she seemed tired but now with an edge of may claw her way out of a fight if really needed.
"No kidding," Kaidy agrees, taking back both cigarette case and lighter and stowing them away in the top pocket of her flightsuit.
She takes a long, pleasurable drag of her own cigarette, grey eyes thoughtful. "Do you have anywhere to stay?"
The mug of tea, heavy in her hand, is offered. Something in her face suggests that more than just a drink may be offered, depending on Liz's answer, but she doesn't say anything just yet.
Liz hadn't thought that far ahead, she would have sorted something out. She shook her head. "Not yet."
She takes the tea and looks at it a moment, then takes a sip (if it kills her then it just makes the day more normal!). She smiles as she tastes what else is in it. "Thanks. Needed something like that." Then she adds a little hesitantly, "It's Liz by the way." There was nothing that said she was or wasn't being honest about that.
"Nah," Kaidy says off-handedly, "I just thought I'd taunt you with them."
She offers the little silver case.
"Are you all right for a light? You look like it's been an interesting day."

"Oh yes? Same as mine, then."
Kaidy's lighter is as silver and as decorative as her case as she leans across to light the cigarette between Liz's lips.
"Mind you, I did my running in a plane, so I like to think I have the edge in style."

"Yeah, beats running barefoot."

"Yes, you looked like it." Kaidy gives her a crooked, tomboyish sort of smile, breathing out a long steady stream of smoke.
"Katherine Hawkins. Everyone calls me Kaidy, though." She offers a somewhat grubby hand. "Pleased to meet you."
