Lorna Bucket / Doctor Who / barways
Immediately prior.
When Lorna wakes up, it's still dark around her, but she doesn't seem to be in the base anymore. She sits up, taking a breath -- and to her surprise, the whole movement is easy and painless. There's nobody else around. Maybe the Doctor and the others left her here to recuperate; she does remember getting hurt.
In front of her, the only clear thing in the dark, is a wickerwork door. In spite of her confusion, she smiles. She hasn't seen any doors like that in years, ever since she left the Gamma Forest. The designs woven into the pattern are unfamiliar, but she doesn't waste time trying to decipher them, not when the others might be waiting for her just beyond. She clambers to her feet, brushes off her uniform, and steps forward.
. . . Into a bar.
Lorna stops in front of the door, letting it swing shut behind her, and blinks in confusion at the bustle around her. Her hands drop automatically towards her holster on one side and the pocket of her fatigues on the other, but both holster and pocket are empty.
Something, she's guessing, has gone very, very wrong.
Prospero (and
Ariel) / The Tempest / also barways
After his
previous visit here, it is far easier for Prospero to return, and the draw of a new place with so much new and strange knowledge in it is irresistible. Ariel accompanies him, of course -- he still needs Ariel's familiarity with the bar as a guide -- though this time the spirit remains invisible, felt and heard as a breeze dogging his footsteps rather than seen.
The magician makes for an imposing figure when he enters from the lakeside door: tall, aging but still strong, his long robe belling out behind him as he strides through the bar, staff in hand. He heads directly for the Observation Window this time, to satisfy his curiosity about the stars that bloom and die beyond its glass.
