Kitty Doyle [oc inspired by "Short Skirt, Long Jacket"] -- outside a research facility
Kitty was a little bit pissed, but trying not to let it show. Something had gone wrong - gone horribly wrong - on her watch. It had nothing to do with her, really. People make mistakes; she knew that. But her record had been perfect, and now this.
Flames had been shooting out of one of the lab rooms, but everyone in that wing had been evacuated and it had been sealed off. Those who had been inside the room where the small explosion had taken place had, of course, been wearing protective suits, and would probably be all right. But she'd sent them to the hospital to be checked out, just in case.
The alarms and sprinklers were still going, but she was now confident, at least, that nothing else was going to go wrong on her watch. And now, sitting on the front steps of what she thought of as her research facility, she was willing to answer questions if any of the evacuees had them. Or any passers-by, for that matter, as the scene was just beginning to clear - HazMat teams and the firefighters and EMTS were still milling about, not to mention the FBI. This was, after all, a government facility.
