Regular bar-ways: Connor - more commonly known as Mr. Russell Nash if you're not a close friend - sits at the bar with his very aged Scotch. He's not looking for anyone in particular. He's just having a drink.

other bar-ways: A younger-looking Connor is peeking around the edge of the bar. He looks either like he's in trouble for something ( Read more... )

Down the bar from whichever him, a girl is playing with a strange set of cards. She doesn't seem to be playing a game exactly; instead, she's building a house of cards. The strange part is that the cards are circular, but somehow the 'house' is still standing. It might have something to do with her, since she's concentrating rather obviously on the cards with the sort of disregard for others that only happened when someone was used to being ignored as habit.

A tired old man watches the cards for a moment before his eyes take note of the girl. 'Back to the cards, he sips his drink and peers curiously trying to determine how the cards keep the shape they've been given. Some might consider it staring. It's not, he's just taking his time between blinks.

"Can I help you?" asked in the soft voice of someone used to living in quiet, careful places.

She doesn't turn her attention from the cards, but she does pause in placing more.

It takes him a moment to parse that through the beginnings of an alcoholic fog and his tired head. He gives a soft shake of his head. "Watching the cards."

There is a young man in his late 20's early 30's who just strolled into the bar. His clothing is quite multicolored and bright, however, his long black hair is damp, and hasn't been put up in it's distinctive bun, yet. Which ever Conner he sees at the Bar is gets a short curt nod as he sits down at the Bar.

"What is good for the first meal of the day?" wondered Kai aloud.

Connor arches an eyebrow at the not-at-all-plain man down the bar. He normally wouldn't answer, but he's feeling charitable today. "Waffles," he answers.

Kai looked up and around.

"What are waffles?" he asked.

This was new.

"A breakfast food, similar to pancakes." Though he's thinking he may have to explain that too.

There's a relatively--and by that we mean very--new Immortal also in the bar, who tenses up as her head begins to throb like someone's trying to split her skull in a way far too similar to a cord of firewood. Lorelei hasn't been legally dead but for about a week, maybe ten days, and it's seriously still throwing her for a loop.

She has a soda bottle in her off hand as she rubs her temple with the other; she's old enough to drink, but alcohol isn't going to make her miraculously not Immortal and she knows it.

He's seen more than a few new immortals suffer the same and try to kill themselves with alcohol. Peering over his Scotch, he tries not to grin when he says, "The pain goes away after a while." The time limit is different for each immortal, but it does go away.

[ooc: sorry for the delay... rl eated me]

"So I'm told," she manages, blinking. "I still can't figure how you guys deal with this."

She finally turns around to face the man who's giving her said headache--though through no fault of his own--and reveals herself as a fairly young redhead with striking pale green eyes, and a coastal southern lilt to her voice when she speaks. She looks tired; Lorelei hasn't gotten around to truly sleeping for more than a few hours yet.
