Happened to be in Tokyo this past weekend to visit a friend and interview for a documentary so I decided to stop by and check out the Leslie Kee exhibit featuring Akanishi. His recent marriage/scandal has left me feeling a bit lukewarm towards him but I have heard good things about Leslie Kee and figured it would be work a visit. I'd already seen most of the photos on display in previews and wanted to go snap a few shots myself, but the 'no pictures' signs were out in full force. I did manage to get one pic of the entrance way though!
There were quite a few people when I went, but mostly just chilling out along the wall, listening to the album. While I was there I per-ordered both versions of the photo book. It was a tough decision to make as the photobooks are stupidly expensive, but, from what the staff at the event told me, it seems that the photobook could only be purchased at the event and that it will not be made available in book stores, so I caved and bought them both. I am weak against goods with limited availability. There was a limit of one book per person (though you could get one of each version, but only one). I was a bit surprised by that limit. Luckily the staff are pretty cool and I managed to get a few extra as I know there are a few people who will want to get their hands on the books!
You could also pre-order the album at the event and get 3 postcards from the photoshoot that won't be published in the book. Again, I lack the ability to resist limited things and pre-ordered a few so I could get the postcards. I knew I'd end up getting the albums anyway as I've always wanted to get my hands on a CD quality version of all his You and Jin/Yellow Gold concerts songs. And postcards work as a better 'gift with purchase' for me than the many types of poster you can get pre-ordering at various other places. I have no space for more posters, but postcards I can add to already huge collection of Eternal postcards. Check them out! I'm having trouble deciding if I like the top or middle postcard best!
