Food and phones.

I don't often post about food, probably because I don't often cook, but last night the mood was upon me and I just grabbed whatever I had to hand and threw it in a frying pan with a knob of butter - ended up with broccoli, cauliflower, two carrots, a capsicum, some cherry tomatoes, aubergine, mushrooms and chicken breast, plus some crushed garlic. Once they'd heated through and the chicken was brown I added a cup of vegetable stock, then let it reduce down to nothing before serving up. It was delicious! I made enough for two nights, so tonight's dinner was very quick and simple - two minutes in the microwave to reheat.

My phone has been refusing to hold a charge for a full day lately. Typical, I was thinking, that's built-in obsolescence for you. My phone contract had only expired in June and it seemed that no sooner was it out of contract than it needed replacing. So, much googling, and checking out of new phones, and railing against the increased monthly cost of a new plan and handset, and calculating whether I was better off just buying a new phone outright, and comparing phones, and carriers, and... finally decided on phone / plan / carrier combination, still fuming over the expense and the trouble of re-downloading all the apps that won't fit on my SD card - and then it occurred to me that I could always just buy a new battery for my current phone. And $8 on ebay later I had done just that.
But I am nothing if not perverse, and now I feel quite disappointed that I'm not getting a new phone.
