the floors in our house are wood and so when the sun sets the whole room glows red and orange and brown. it's really quite amazing. we have a white table in between the perpendicular'ed couches that houses the telephone and a lamp with a shade with a hole in it. the base is metal and has three chinese-dragon type creatures holding up each of the three lights and they curl in c-shapes along the middle pole. at the bottom of the pole is a moveable ring made of three children facing outward and holding hands around the pole. they stand on a mound that ends in a mote that's carved around the bottom of the base which then comes up on the sides like a platter. the lamp sits on a gigantic lace doilie, and in front of that lives the phone, except for now, because it is absent, because it is in amaia's room. i fear i will never see her again.
sagrario sola is clearly proud of what she does. today she took me to her office downtown and showed me around. about the plaque that hangs on the front of the building that says "psicologo: sagrario sola", she said "look, i have a...!" with great excitement. in her office are paintings created and given to her by a former patient, and in the other office hang two red-framed drawings done by the two amazing children that i adore so much. one, by amaia, is a collage of colored blobs with rough borders, and the other, by julen, depicts two giant castles labeled "ganadores" and "perdadores" complete with armored knights shooting arrows at one another (the ganadores, of course, are winning). sagrario asked them to draw something for her office and apparently this is what they provided. there's a closet that used to be a closet but now is a bathroom, it's a secret bathroom which compliments the secret kitchen, which both go hand in hand with the secret parking trick for not having to walk two miles to get to the building. sagrario likes secret things. the rooms are small and of course i would change the furniture if it were up to me, but over all it's a swell little flat in the southeast part of downtown overlooking some ivy-covered trellises and remaining quite peaceful despite being in the city. i liked it very much, but moreso than that i liked how completely excited rar was to show me every little detail of her office, from the "relaxing chair" with the bio-feedback machine to the way she doesn't have the files organized at all. it was really sweet and probably one of the best things i've experienced so far, getting to see someone's passion rise up in them without prompting. i'm glad above all that she likes what she does -- it's what i hope for everyone.
julen and i have just finished watching the spongebob squarepants movie (or, bob esponja: la película) and now he's off playing with some friend of his. i asked him what his favorite part was and he said it was the end when spongebob is playing the guitar and going totally crazy. he proceeded to re-enact it for me and it was maybe the most awesome thing i've seen all day.
today i made ratatouille, went to the gym, drank some chicory, and thought a lot about portland. tomorrow maybe i'll go to my classes if they'll still take me. i've got some new goals and they totally rock, i just can't tell you what they are. in the summer i'm going to go swimming somewhere really amazing, soon i'm going to figure out where that will be. wish me luck.
