That's just it - they ARE deliberately fucking around just to make Obama look bad, and they've flat-out admitted it verbatim. Words cannot express how pissed off I am at that whiny little crocodile-tears bitch Boehner for sucking up to the Teabaggers (who are, naturally, the instigators of this mess).
For comparison, the GOPricks apparently had NO problem jacking up the debt ceiling for their patron saint, Reagan (17 times), or for Bush I (5 times), or his hellspawn Bush II (7 times). (For Clinton it was a mere 4 times, but then, we probably didn't need to, being that we were enjoying an unprecedented economic prosperity!) So for them to claim all of a sudden that we're being "irresponsible" and that Obama is OMG going to make the middle class even poorer is pure bullshit.
I think that, if a deal is reached, it will come down to the very last literal wire-moment. But it will be an ugly one, and people are going to suffer for it big-time (I'm thinking in particular women, who have had a VERY bad year re: social programs and rights, especially in light of the Xtian jihad declared on Planned Parenthood).
I want to rule the world now just so I can bring back public beheadings. >:/
