Resolutions?

Jan 02, 2013 16:01

New Year rolls round again. In common with most people, I usually break any resolutions I make. Nevertheless, I'm going with:

1. Be more active on Dreamwidth.
(Not very specific, and shouldn't be very difficult either. I would mention LJ but that's still banned at work, and there's no likelihood of my having more free time to spend on t'interwebby stuff in the evenings and weekends, so I'll just specify DW.)

2. Get my sore tooth fixed.
(The one I was supposed to have out last May / June but chickened out for various reasons. It's nowhere near as sore as it was then, but it's still giving me twinges from time to time, and it's only going to get worse, not better, if I leave it. I should try to get a second opinion, though, to see if it could be saved.)

3. Complete my Pilgrim's Way.
(Not likely to be any time soon, given the extremely wet weather this country has been experiencing for what seems like months. But some time in 2013.)

4. Go to Kamchatka.
(I was booked to go several years ago - 2009? - but the tour was cancelled by the holiday company. Since then I've looked at alternative tours but they all require a much higher fitness level than I thought I was at. So this is also an indirect way of saying "get fitter".)

5. Let things go.
I'm a hoarder, so I tend to hold on to things rather than letting them go. I read a cardmaker's blog recently which struck home. Things go out of fashion; if you keep something too long, eventually you won't even like it any more. Use it when you love it. And more generally - spread the joy.

6. Erm, well, there's lots of other things I COULD say like get the house sorted, lose weight, find a job up north, etc. There's no point setting myself up to fail, though. If they happen, they happen.

Happy new year, all.
