Michael fingered the smooth coin around his neck, along with the three other charms he wore on the silver chain. One for courage, one for luck, one for protection... and the coin? Maybe for all three. He wasn't entirely sure - he felt some sort of power within it, but it was nothing he was familiar with on a personal level. He wasn't sure he wanted to understand, it was enough that it was functional - and he trusted that the unction was a beneficial one.
Michael didn't like people- didn't trust them, didn't want to be around them. But he did, however, like free stuff.So he headed down to the community center for rain gear. Afterward, he made his to the Founder's Society to pick up a paper for the scavenger hunt. He wasn't particularly interested in hunting for things, but he did hope that he'd win a certificate. That was pretty much the only way he was going to get into the carnival, unless he snuck in.
His old man wouldn't give him money to go to the carnival - too expensive, not necessary. No way. And he didn't have a job. So scavenging it was....
