On the very eventful day, i actually cut my hair and got a new spectacle.
I 'm always amused at how my mum could always be able to put her words as my words (not that i really mind), though i do believe it's a "run in the blood" thing considering i'm capable of that as well (just not as good?).
Anyway, with my mum saying that "I" said that i wanted a new hairstyle after all the unchangeable hairstyle (yes, magically, no matter how many times i change my hair stylist, i get the same cut), the new hair stylist (yes, a new one again but really good) was confident in giving me a brand new hairstyle. With that, i'd a new hairstyle that my mum describe as totally different. It's really good because now i don't need to bother about where the hell should i split my hair. The hair stylist is really kind to even use the straightener to straighten my hair a bit (though it's temporary). For once, my hair is really straight. I'll totally go for hair straightening or rebonding when i have the chance. My sister like this hair stylist as well (and there's saying ALOT)
Ohh, but the most important point is, it's cheap! Therefore, conclusion made, my whole family will be going to this hair stylist, permanent.
As for the spectacle, i'd really got nothing much to say other than it's EXPENSIVE!!!! Seriously, never (and i mean NEVER) get blinded by the words "sales up to 50%" or "opening sales" because it's a trap (yes, a TRAP). People usually missed the word "up to" and focuses on the 50% and get really excited but seriously, the main focus is actually the "UP TO" which, by the time you realized, it's already too late. For my spectacle, i can't understand why it had to be $190 when the frame is alot cheaper than the ones i bought and it's not even transition len!!! As quoted from my mum, "let's take it as a good, expensive lesson".
I just felt alot from seeing shachou's post about the JE senpai and kohai groups and thought i'll write it down.
I'd warned that it's going to be freaking long and may be offensive to some.
If you're still interested, i won't stop you from reading on but bear in mind that these are only my thinking.
As what i'd seen, i do understand why people are getting really upset about how the senpai groups are seriously quieting down because i get upset as well. Everyone can see that the focus is seriously put on all the kohai groups and we, being fans of senpai groups can't understand the reason behind it all. There's also the problem about the debuting group becoming younger and younger. This, in turn, triggered ANOTHER round of discussion over how "they're too young" and "why isn't who and who debuting instead". I confessed that i was a part of that as well, talking to my friends about how ridiculous the whole idea was. However, reading
this and
this totally made me understood the whole situation and made me amazed of how meticulous Johnny-san is at his work.
In a way, we can say that, the difference in age would definitely mean a difference in preferences. No matter how we loved the senpai groups, we can't expect them to forever be in the lead as there's always the need to let fresh new blood into the system to ensure a balance. Just like how we had to move on from high school, college and eventually the workforce. We, not being fans of the group, would only wonder why people are so crazy over them. However, just give it a thought, won't it be the same for us, with the difference being that, WE are the fans that people can't understand. In this way, we're be able to see things from a different point of view. The main point is to put yourself into the others' shoes. Obviously, this could be really really difficult and people may think, "hey, why should i do that? It's none of my business after all", but, really, it's your business. Once a fan, always a fan. No matter what you are fangirling/boying about, you're still under the great big category of "FANS". You may most definitely insist that you are "so and so" fan and not "so and so" fan, but all in all, you still comes down to a "fan".
As Kamichan had written, the market had changed. There is no point in trying to introduce more stuff into the older generation but to focus on the young pre-teens. Even if you're not at the venues, just looking at the videos, you're see that many of the fans are getting young. You may argue that, "hey, it's because all the shows are only featuring the kohai groups, what do you expect?". But, seriously, you think that is really the case? What about when the senpai groups first debuted? Don't you think the even more senpai group's fans won't be complaining the same thing? Of cos, they did the same (considering we're doing it now because humans never change), it's just that they realized it's pointless and just carried on. It's just a cycle, a harsh cycle of the change in blood, i'll say. Where one group is taken over by another newer, younger group. But, it had to happen regardless of how we hated it. In that case, why not just accept and make do with what we can?
When talking about the bond among or within the groups, people starts saying about how the senpai groups bond alot better than the kohai groups. However, a very straight-forward question, "how do you know that what you see on tv is really a reality?" We must have seen enough to understand, no matter how we think we're familiar of an idol or group, we'll never know what is exactly the reality (unless we know them personally, of cos, which in this case, is not applicable). There is still the blogs, jweb and magazines' interview, but humans are a very cunning and intelligent specie, that will do anything to survive (no matter how much we want to deny it). We can never be sure of what we know.
About the senpai groups being guests, i actually feel pretty happy about it. I mean, look at it this way, they are actually going to the next level and no longer the sad kohai groups that had to do weird stuff just to be on tv. For those who don't watch the kohai groups and think that the senpai group's work alot harder than them, i'll have to say sorry, but you're wrong. The kohai groups obviously are doing shitty stuff as well, just that, they always had a more outstanding one in the group that stole the lamplight, making people not able to realize that the others are doing shitty things. In a way, having an especially outstanding member in a group is also a tough idea to live with. For example, imagine that everyone in your class is really hardworking but somehow, only one person is getting all the attention and being very good friends with each other, there is seriously nothing you can do about but to accept and wait for your turn. However, it never really seems to come and you ended up having only to work harder and wishing that your turn to shine would somehow arrive. That is what is happening for a lot of them, but what can be done? If you're the fan of the one in the lamplight, you won't even realized that this problem existed.
Anyway, although i can still write alot more, but i'm definitely not going to go any further so i'll stop. However, i'll want to add that, if you ask fans of kohai groups, you'll be surprised at how many of them are actually fans of senpai group as old as Smap. As i'd said, this may be offensive for some, everyone had their own preferences and most of all, their own thinking. I'm just trying to write down my thinking and sharing with those who find it interesting. :)
