Today I went to the cinema with zaziemuto and another friend and we watched Ghibli's PONYO
Actually this movie was formerly sheduled to run two years ago, but then they posponed it and than again and finally dropped it at all.
At least I thought that. It was more or less a coincidence that I even knew it runs at the moment, because
I looked into the newspaper and gave a brief look over the cinema section.
It kind of pisses me of that they didn't promote this movie in Germany AT ALL. I mean it's a Ghibli movie!!! Spirited away even got an
academy award and they don't give a damn about this movie alhough it's from the same studio!?
I've already seen like the first 30 minutes of it in Japanese because I have it on my computer, but I was always too lazy to finish it,
because I didn't get what the "bad guy" was saying...he kinda mumbled to much
So it was fun to see it synchronized and they even used the Japanese music throughout the movie because they were too
lazy to sub it or they didn't want to spend more money on it?
We were only like 8 people in the cinema room - we three, a father with his two kids (and two little boys who had gotten into the wrong movie? xD).
When the movie started and the first Kanji appeared the father told his children "that's Chinese" and our friend went like "NO! That's Japanese!" and the father went like "O___o Oh....sorry..."
However, the movie was cute
In my opinion it is much more a movie for children than all the other Ghibli movies and
the story is kinda plain, but nevertheless it is cute
I just say "Ponyo Sousuke suki!!!" "Ham ga hoshii!!"
So adorable
And I'm just damn angry about myself that I didn't bought the Ponyo stuff thing in Japan
I want to have it....buhuuuu....
