Been feeling exhausted lately. Evan has been keeping us up. I guess that happens.
I didn't do the fashion show. Turns out a modelling agency offered models for free, so they went with them instead.
I wasn't bummed. I'll never admit it, but I was feeling a bit of anxiety about it that morning. I mean, think about it for a second. I am NOT a model. I'm 5'6 and 36 years old. And while I've gotten into really good shape lately, I'm just not really a model type.
I'll do a couple gigs here and there for fun if people ask me to, but I don't want to pursue this too much. I'm afraid I wouldn't be taken seriously if I did.
I was going to go to the event anyhow, just to catch up with a few friends and introduce Ozzi to some people who might help him with his festival of movement he wants to do next year, but I just got too tired and crashed out early. Haven't really felt like going to clubs much lately. Nothing really there for me, and it's a bit of a drive. I'd really have to want to, and again, there's no real reason for me to go unless I've got a bunch of friends celebrating something.
I'm not becoming THAT guy, I just have too much on my plate. You'll never find me sitting home bored on a Saturday night.
Evan kept us up again that night, so we missed the Friday CrossFit workout, then the doctor for his monthly visit, which meant shots.
And yes, that means he kept us up last night as well.
Went with Kat to a breastfeeding group retreat today up in the Nuuanu mountains. It was pleasant.
Then I went home with Evan and Kat went with a bunch of friends to see "Twilight". I'm not a teenage girl, and I never read the book, so I decided to sit this one out. Besides, Kat never gets to go out, so I figured this was a good opportunity.
Even though I wasn't feeling my best, I decided to workout in my garage.
Today, I did the "300" workout.
25 pullups
50 deadlifts @ 135#
50 pushups
50 box jumps
50 floor wipers @ 135#
50 KB Clean & Press @ 35#
25 pullups
23:47 Rx
This is the thing that started the whole train rolling. Kevin introduced me to the workout last year, I found out that it's basically a CrossFit workout, and once I found out what CrossFit was, I was intrigued enough to find out about it, and try it out for myself.
So thanks, Kevin, for everything. I hope I sufficiently paid you back last week :)
Anyway, upon first seeing this workout, I decided to give it a try last year, and I didn't even make it past the first 25 pullups.
So I completed this workout today - I guess that's an accomplishment in itself. I didn't meet my goal of under 20:00, but I know where I had difficulty.
Strangely, the deadlifts gave me the most trouble. I'm pretty strong with heavy deadlifts, but higher reps of lighter ones really wear me out. I think I could easily take off 3:48 from that alone.
Better get to sleep. Work in the morn.
