"My heart stops" is perhaps an over-used phrase and for many instantly reeks of melodrama. Generally, a metaphor; not an actual physical sensation.
Bearing this in mind, my heart - fortunately - does not stop.
It expands, inbetween a beat it pushes against my pericardium, trying to force my chest backwards. Halfway between being winded and an orgasm... is time and space travel.
Sadly, the time displacement itself lasts but a few seconds, but it has a lasting effect of euphoric shock and mild disorientation.
My TTT (time travel triggers) and destinations:
Sandstorm: Parga, Greece (2000).
The Middle: Saddlers Place, Martlesham Heath (2001).
Maria: Oxford Canal (2002).
Citizen Erased: Wembley Arena, London (2003).
English Summer Rain: De Brink on the green, Martlesham Heath, Suffolk (2003).
Feuer Frei!: Camden Market, London (2003).
Old: King Billy pub, Northampton (2006).
If it Kills Me: Avenue Campus, Northampton (2007).
