"Grunge is synonymous with the condition of youth and stands for fear of the future as well as ecological awareness, a feeling of helplessness, and the desperate search for new values." (-Gerda Buxbaum, 1999)

It's hard to believe that the state of mind in which I was introduced to the world, can be articulated so well. I didn't know anyone was paying attention besides me and my friends who weren't surprised when Kurt Cobain killed himself.

Someone mentioned to me, quite a long time ago, that the economy can influence music and movies and general emotional states more than we realize. During the time of "Grunge" we were in a recession like today.

During our economic boom of mid-late 90's I though I was going mad, or getting old or something, because nothing new in music moved me at all. But then we get a President like Bush and all the joys that come with it, and suddenly artists put more meaning into their art. Many artists believe that they cannot create, if they are not suffering. Like they have no catharsis to inspire them.

Yin and Yang folks. It's the stuff the universe is made of.

I swear sometimes, I know I am only here for the ride.
