My two gifts for
ff_exchange, for
cephiedvariable(who hasn't claimed yet even though the first's been up for a couple of days, I'm a little worried...)
She gave two FFTactics prompts--one for Delita/Ramza, the other for Delita, Ovelia, and Olan postgame. Naturally I jumped at the chance to just write Delita.
The prose one: Polyphony. Postgame intersecting with pregame, the way I tend to. The King goes backward, the Boy goes forward, and somewhere in between they meet.
But once that was done, it felt smallish and incomplete...so I dropped by her LJ and noted that
cephiedvariablewas a fire-busker and that she had a marked interest in music. So I think back on Vassar and on certain Monkeys Who Also Do Opera, and decided to contact the mods of the exchange and pester
cephiedvariable about her musical ability.
It turns out that she's a lyric soprano and a violinist.
So, the other gift: O'er Hair Both Black and Cherry-Red, for high voice and piano. Romantic lied with all the romance gone.
I think this takes the music geekery to an extreme. ::grins::
