Ficbits AGAIN?

.

Good god, am I doing one of these every other week now? (I. I just. I keep getting enough done. And I'm a little drained after Visitation.)

FICBIT ME.

Bits will be five hundred words at least. Any fandom you know I know.

I am receptive to crossovers* this time around. (white_aster, I am looking STRAIGHT AT YOU.) In fact, if it is something I have ( Read more... )

...The next time you come to New York, I'm taking you to curry row and stuffing you full of chapatti and green tea ice cream. You... this... it... it's all so awesome.

I mean... my god, I love the carefully hidden sense of desperation and yearning and slowly dying hope in this piece. Love it love it love it! I mean... your Larsa is such a perfect blend of idealism, wishful thinking and ruthless pragmatism that it blows almost any other version of him that I've read (and god knows written-- I can only hope to do justice to him in Project Break My Own OTP In Half) away.

It's just... he's inking her pictures and trying to put words into her mouth, trying to make her conform to the image he has of her! (And he'd protest that he wasn't attracted to anything ideal in her-- hah.) And he's constantly coming up with devious ideas on how to lure her and find her and reconcile with her that only leads to crashing failure on his part! (Dude, the King of the Pirates is her best friend. And whatever else she can do, Penelo's always been able to blend in with a crowd.) And he even goes looking for her himself, only to find that others just can't understand what it is that makes him want her so much in turn!

(And that really makes me think about how people outside of himself see his quest to find Penelo. I mean, clearly Basch thinks he's perhaps going just a little around the bend trying to lure her out-- and I can just imagine what the court gossips must say. To them, Penelo must probably be interchangeable with dozens of women who are younger, lovelier, more cultured and probably a lot easier to handle as well. Heh, now that makes me think of what she thought about their scrutiny of her in turn. Being the aging mistress of a powerful ruler-- and thus a public figure in her own right-- must not have always been pleasent...)

I do have one question though... how old is Larsa when he gets married in Swan Song? I thought he was around 24-25, but if Penelo's over thirty, he must be older.)

But anyway, MUCH LOVE TO YOU AND THIS AND EVERYTHING HERE. And hon, you want me to write a fic-bit for you in turn? I shall even do my best to pen Basch fic for you. It's the least I can do right now! ;)

He is twenty-five, which makes her thirty.

YAY GREEN TEA ICE CREAM!

And you got it. Every single ounce of it. I'm flattered. ::grins::

I would love more Baschfic out of you. No imposition. If you're inspired.

Green tea ice cream is the best thing EVER. I went out to celebrate my friend's b-day on Sunday and ate it in the freezing cold of the night. And it was worth every damn sniffle afterwards. XD

If? You are inspiration enough! Let's see what I can whip up in a few weeks time. ♥
