First off, Ten’s dead. *bawl* It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, though, since he did go out doing what he does, and he got to say goodbye to everyone first. I especially liked the scene with Jack and Alonzo. But when did Martha marry Mickey? I thought she married Tom, that doctor she met traveling the world during the Year That Never Was. And since when is she a mercenary or whatever?
I think I’ll like Eleven, based on the little we saw of him in this, since even after traumatic regenerations the basic personality stays the same. But whether I like him or not, he’s not Ten.
The scenes between the Doctor and the Master were so blatant I’m surprised my dad didn’t pick up on the subtext. And, holy shit, that guy was Rassilon? How does that work? I’m wondering what happened to the Master, if he got sucked into the Time Lock too, or if he burned himself up. I liked him a lot in this, and I hope we’ll see him again.
The final scene, with the Doctor and the gun, and the Master frying the Time Lords was awesome, *note to self: learn new adjective* and it really fit both their characters. The way they restored Gallifrey made sense, at least when I watched it, although I may think of holes in the logic later.
Can’t think of anything else to say right now, since my brain is still processing, but on the whole it was good, and I think Ten went out well, although I wasn’t a fan of the “he’s regenerating, no he’s not, yes he is” that went on.
ETA: I remember thinking in that scene where the Doctor was trying to get the Master to travel with him that it was like Three and Delgado in reverse. And the Master's comment about the Doctor liking Earth girls was obvious jealousy.
ETA 2: The atrocious grammar has now been fixed. I plead severe emotional distress.
