Assorted things
While I'm still keeping busy it's mostly been with things that aren't especially interesting to read about. Started work on a Magin dagger to mainhand, which is mostly done. Samurai merits almost capped; keeping on with making money; and so on.
Around the time I finished my Maat's Cap I had a pretty big boner for leveling Scholar, thinking that it's ability to swap roles and nuke almost as well as blm would be awesome. Well, as you may have noticed, I never did level it. I realised that the things blm has over it - sleepga 2 and stun mainly - are things I would not want to be without in most mage-friendly situations. This has been reinforced by using Nix's blm. So, I don't think I'll level sch anytime soon.
Instead, I've been leveling dnc! It's a pretty fun job. I dunno how much I'd get to use it in Einherjar (one of the big reasons I started leveling it) given that I'm normally main assist and top of the parse on warrior, but it'd still be fun to have for things like merits and dynamis. Been working on a Magin dagger for it, doing a mainhand one first which requires no VNMs - I figure Joytoy will work for offhand until I can get some pixie eyes.
My Samurai has been seeing a lot of use, not just because of "oh shiny and new" factors, but it's a pretty awesome job. I'm finding more and more times that I'm happier DDing on it than warrior, or tanking on it than I would be on pld (ninja is as good as retired). So with that in mind, I finally started working on ASA missions. I'm a bit sad that SE has been so mizerly with keys on it compared to other add-ons, I liked going to the coffer in Tenshodo and getting random things, some of which have been nice. But alas! Not this time. Been enjoying it thus far though.
Linkshell did a Dyna-tav run, which I got to me in. Was pretty cool! Went well, but we didn't get many drops sadly. Nice and fun though.
Have also got myself Odin to summon, but not bothered with Alexander yet. Odin is pretty awesome on, er, Odin in Einherjar, but I'm normally on pld for that, so not been able to use it myself. I did get to go smn to a kited Kirin though, which was a nice change from tanking. Two very good runs, with 2 w-legs and an n-body!
And on the note of Einherjar and Odins and such; one of these pools makes up for the other.
I don't think there's been anything too exciting other than this really. Um... might have a Salvage group? Er... I'm looking forward to lvl cap 80? I got a Wyrm Beard from KS99? I'm gonna lvl cor again after dnc? I have enough money to buy Hachiryu Haidate but can't find a seller? That's about it, FFXI-wise. For other stuff, I saw Eyehategod last Thursday at the Rock City Basement in Nottingham and it was incredible; American Psycho is a brilliant film but not quite as good as the book; Kick Ass lives up to it's name; I'm coming down with a cold... er... my sleep pattern is non-existant? idk! Ah, here we go. Random stuff people have said which made me go Oo

Also, inability to play a kitty on ff14 alpha sucks.
