Some friends and I went to see Twilight tonight (fo' free, obviously.) It reminds me a lot of some of the better parts of the summer, when Annie or Bridget and I would roll up to the back entrance of Showcase Cinema and just stroll into whatever movie we were in the mood to see. Hence my viewing Prince Caspian a grand total of something disgusting like five times through the course of the summer. Loves it. We had originally intended to see Four Christmases, but I was more than happy that that idea fell through because I'd already seen it. Twilight was charming and sickeningly romantic. However, I was left in much better spirits after tonight. I thought it was hilarious that Bridget spilled half a liter of Polar soda on her crotch and looked as though she'd peed herself all night. And even better was the fact that the theater we were in for the film was hotter than the oven I was baking in earlier today. I was sweating like a whore in church by the time the movie ended. That, and spending some time with a friend from school, as well as having a pretty good heart-to-heart with a friend made for an enjoyable evening. Besides all that, Robert Pattinson is still hot, though screw you all, I called dibs on that YEARS ago (see also: seedyopiumden)
Anyway, the movie was obviously meant to foster unacceptably optimistic goals and wishes and dreams for adolescent girls ages 12-17+ -- perhaps myself included. But when these girls do meet their first boyfriend, and when he says he "Just wants to try something... don't move" and proceeds with J-T-T... well these girls will be sorely disappointed, and no pun intended. I'm just saying, it's nice to dream about a boy as courteous and protective and absolutely perfect as Edward Cullen, but really now, we can't all be like me, can we?
I found it a little bit funny at the same time, though, considering that I joke with Michael rather frequently that being as pale and nocturnal as he is (and for a few other reasons unsuitable I feel for discussion), he must be a vampire. Undoubtedly.
("Wow. Your wit rivals the level of your sweetness and that's saying something")
Not quite sure how I feel about that, but I guess I'll take it.
It's officially Christmas Eve. Happy Jesus Time, errrrybody!
