One day I came across this aww-inspiring banner of WFGE, showing Superman and Batman head-to-head admiring some Christmas ornaments, and it stole my heart. I desperately tried to find out which cover was this great seasonal manip was from, and nobody could answer my question! So I magnified the picture, barely identified the cover date (talking about detective skills, LOL), and finally found Superman #165. Then Superman #168 (the title is: "With This Ring..."--How SLASHY is THAT! <3<3<3). Then Detective Comics #756. And I. Was. HOOKED.

YOU HAVE AWESOME DETECTIVE SKILLS. My husband, who manipped that cover, is tickled that it was responsible for getting you involved!

By the way, you know what's significant about these two issues? Superman #168 and Detective Comics #756 are the ONLY crossover (storyline-wise, I mean) between the boys' own books!

Wow, that is really amazing, considering how often they appear in each others' titles, but you're right, it's never an actual Super-Bat crossover! I think we need another one, don't you? It's been nearly ten years now!

And yesss, that panel of them glaring at each other is so USTy! They're so close... but studiously NOT touching, lol.

I love the second part so much although the art is...pretty weird at times! But the story and the interactions are absolutely perfect...thanks again for pointing me to them, I really owe you a lot!
