Scans: Legends of the Dark Knight 186-189 (AKA Metrosexual Riddler!)
Legends of the Dark Knight 186-189 (2005) featured a story arc called "Riddle me That," in which a revamped Riddler appeared, complete with torturous childhood trauma that explains his compulsions (child genius with a father who beat him and said he was cheating!) and a very new look and style:
The look wouldn't "take," and Riddler would be back to his traditional green and bowler hat soon after this, but it's a fabulous story arc.
I'm not going to bother with the plot, which is not too bad, I guess, but my mind derails every time Eddie arrives on the scene, starting with his entrance:
Riddler seems almost deliberately modeled on Desire of the Endless here, which seems odd. Though more likely it's that they're both modeled on Nagel paintings...
Oh, come on. Though he isn't saying that to Batman...
Don't worry, Batman gets away! :D And defeats Riddler and sends him off to Arkham, where he apparently has a change of heart and goes back to the green bowler, to Bruce's relief.
