something thudded into the wall near Jean-Paul’s head. Jean-Paul pulled it out and the camera zoomed in close to show a little piece of metal shaped like a stylized bat. Written on it in neat black letters: I accept.

Ooooh! A batarang!

Lex Luthor’s purple tie was a tiny visual reminder of his days as an malign hooded mastermind. He didn’t bother to wear the full Evil Genius Gear anymore, but no one was likely to forget his role as he addressed the Injustice League

Hee!

“That doesn’t make any sense,” said Dick from an improbable perch on the back of a chair. “It doesn’t return.”

“Sure it does,” said Bruce, walking over to retrieve it. He held it up. “See?”

*gigglesnorts*

Bruce bit his lip in concentration and threw it again. “Don’t try this at home, kids,” he intoned as it clattered across the floor.

*giggles even more*

“I don’t like the storyline,” said Dick. “I don’t like that he’s using you to get Jean-Paul over with the crowds. He’s making you a tool in Azrael’s redemption story.”

Awww, Dick! *pets him gently*

“A title ( ... )

Bruce being all delighted (and not very skilled) with his "batarangs" made me ridiculously happy to write. I have a feeling he didn't even throw that one in the promo, they had a prop person do it (how embarrassing if it had just clanged off the wall!)

Yay, how wonderful for Selina! :D

I realized I hadn't clarified the situation on the women's side for a while, and I really wanted Selina to have the title!

Oh dear, this doesn't sound good...

Gragh, I almost want to just skip the next chapter even though it's pretty much the reason for this series existing! Watching Dick and Lex and Jean-Paul box themselves into this situation is very frustrating...

Eeeeeheehee! Poor Clark! :D

This actually just happened recently to one of my favorite wrestlers, poor guy. "Argh! This cape!" :)

Silver Banshee’s shoulders stayed on the mat. She didn’t kick out. If the ref’s hand hit the mat one more time, the title would go to Cheetah.

The ref’s fist hesitated in the air for a grotesque split-second too long, and Clark heard Bruce curse.

Banshee’s shoulder came up just before the fateful three-count that would declare Cheetah the winner--but it was obvious that Cheetah had grabbed her shoulder and lifted it.

Meeeep!

The bell rang and Catwoman was handed the beautiful platinum belt. She smiled and lifted it above her head, coyly checking the nails of her free hand. The camera caught a beautiful shot of her admiring her face in its polished surface: Selina Kyle, champion at last. The boos gave way to adulation for their favorite leather-clad women’s wrestler; in the arena the smarks were celebrating.

Yay! *cheers for Selina*

“I am too, Jack,” said Luthor. “You’ve worked for my family for a long time. Let’s hope time hasn’t passed you by.” He turned to Selina, who had an arm around Siobhan. “Congratulations on your title, ( ... )

Ooooh! I really loved this part!

Real wrestling does not have enough of tag team partners desperately touching each other through chain link cages. It was a real pleasure to fix this. :)

I'm not sure what's going to happen with Kara now, exactly! But she suddenly announced she was going to be there, and considering her new show just started I decided it seemed fair...

Meeeeeeeeeeep!!! Oh that... that is going to lead to all sorts of trouble...

It...it really is. It's based on a real thing, and I'll be honest, I actually am hard-pressed to improve on the bizarre drama and timing of the original!

Now I must consider what Kara wants to achieve and what her relationship with Clark is! *ponders* Thank you so much for your comments! *dances*

I’ve been trying to figure out what went wrong, why I’m not the competitor I used to be. And it comes down to Batman. To the man who trusted me with his title, with his name, with his legacy. The man I let down.”
WOW!

“If Diana’s got to lose it, I’m glad it’s to you,” Clark said, and she stuck her tongue out at him.
:)

“I mean--” He broke off and cleared his throat. “Not that anyone could take the place of your parents, but Clark and I are… We care about you a lot,” he said.
AWWW!

“I want control over the Grayson name,” said Dick. “No one can invoke it without my approval.”
Good

“This one thing,” said Dick. He looked at Clark, imploring. “Just this one thing. Me, my family--we’ve worked so hard for Luthor. It’s a small thing to ask in return. I can’t bear to drop the title to--” He broke off and tried again. “I need to control who I drop the title to.”
Oh Dick *hugs him*

I feel so bad for Dick in this series! But he's going to end up happy eventually...next chapter will be tough, though!

I so wanted to give Selina a happy moment! And Kara just insisted on showing up. Who was I to say no?

Oh boy… this is going to be an issue, isn’t is?

It is, it issss. I'm basing it on a real event--who would have thought contract issues would end up being the cause of the most dramatic moment in wrestling history? I...really hope I can write it believably, because the original is almost too strange for fiction.

Action-packed chapter!

Poor Dick. Losing to Jean-Paul is the last straw to him. Hope he takes poor Pop Haly with him.

Nice World's Finest action, like in Public Enemies with the back-to-back bit.

Yay for Selina, the flirt! ;)

Supergirl! Awesome!!!

I bet once Dick joins the Titans, they really take off. Poor Bruce will be upset, and Clark, too. Liked them going in with Dick during contract talks. :)

Anyone but Jean-Paul, darn it!

And Selina flirting with the boys just to be silly makes me really happy.

Oh, I have to come up with a good storyline for Kara somewhere! It seemed like a good time to add her!

There's no way any promotion with Dick in it will be unsuccessful, that's for sure!

“And there’s one more thing,” Dick said, and Clark froze. There hadn’t been “one more thing” in their discussions of this meeting. “I’d like to have it as part of my contract that I get creative control over how I relinquish the title.” Luthor’s head came up. “I’ll drop it when you tell me to, but I want some input into how the storyline gets handled.”
Oh, what is that I smell? Could that be... yes, I do think that's concessions stand poutine!

The ref pounded the mat: one--two--

At least she has the excuse of it being in a chaotic multi-way match and after a high-impact move. Unlike a certain "All Red Everything" who forgot to kick out after a basic slam in a one-on-one recently... (grrrr if Brian Kendrick can't make her competent, nobody can! Get her out of the ring, Vince ( ... )

It's kind of hilarious to me that my ACTUAL SUPERVILLAINS end up being more sympathetic than the real Eva Maries and Vinces of the world! (I wanted SO MUCH for Eva Marie to be sandbagging us all and just show up and amaze everyone...but no. No, she is terrible. Sigh).

It's been fun to find ways to link current inspirations (like Eva Marie) with older ones like the Screwjob by getting Hebner a motivation there... :)
