Everyone, I just had to post about this, because I just had the best experience. THE BEST. I still can’t believe it!

So I mentioned I was going to a DCW show, but at the last minute a friend managed to score me some tickets for the meet and greet beforehand--you know, where you get to see the wrestlers and get their autograph and say hi? Well, you are not going to believe this, but the wrestler doing the meet and greet that day was NIGHTWING. Yes, our brand-new heavyweight champ, OMG, I almost died when I found out. I would have been happy to meet Flash, or even Ambush Bug! And it ended up being--okay, wait, let me start at the beginning.

I was in line--it was a long line, I had to wait almost an hour, but it was WORTH IT. I could hear Nightwing talking to people at the front of the line and I was just getting more and more nervous. Like, what if I made an idiot of myself? What if I couldn’t say anything and just stared at him? What if I cried? I was--okay, I admit it, I was getting a little wound up and might have been...I might have been getting close to hyperventilating. I guess it was bad enough that the two guys in front of me in line noticed, because they turned around and smiled at me.

They were really cute (I mean, for older guys, they weren’t cute like Dick Grayson)--and they looked kind of familiar? I mean, I almost thought they were wrestlers for a moment, but that’s silly, why would two wrestlers be in line at a meet and greet, right? One was wearing sweats and the other was wearing a really sharp suit, but somehow they looked almost like a couple. I don’t know why I thought that, it was just something about how they stood around each other, the way they looked at each other. But I didn’t really get a strong impression of them, because the line was still creeping forward and I was trying not to freak out at the fact that I’d be MEETING DICK GRAYSON soon.

“You okay?” said the one in sweats, and kind of patted me on the shoulder. I gulped really hard and nodded, and I think I kind of looked like I was thinking about bolting and running away, because he said, “Don’t worry about it, he’s just a person, you know?”

Well, somehow that kind of made me mad, and I blurted out, “No he’s NOT, none of them are!” He looked surprised and I just kept babbling, “They’re so amazing, they’re like real-life superheroes, and they risk their life every night, and he’s the best of them! I was watching when he won the title and I cried so hard, you have no idea!”

“I cried too,” said the guy in the suit. “You’re right, he is amazing.”

“I’m afraid I might throw up,” I whispered, and he laughed.

“It probably wouldn’t be the first time that happened to him. He's a professional, it wouldn't faze him that much. Don’t worry, just watch what we do and do pretty much the same thing and you’ll be fine.” He looked at his friend in the sweats and smiled, then asked me: “Do you have good seats tonight?”

I laughed and told him my seat--it was way up in the nosebleed section, but I didn’t care, it would be enough to hear the crowd and everything. He nodded and at the time I didn’t think anything more of it, because it was their turn to talk to Nightwing and I was right after them, oh my God.

I was trying to keep breathing steady so it was hard to pay attention to them. The only thing I could think was that Dick Grayson was just a few feet away from me! Oh my God, he has such pretty hair, you have no idea, up close it’s even shiner-looking than on tv, and his eyes! He looked a little surprised when my two new friends came up and shook his hand, and he asked them if this was their first meet and greet.

“I haven’t been to one since I was a kid,” said the guy wearing sweats. “But it was worth the wait to shake your hand and tell you what a great champion you are.”

The guy in the suit shook his hand too. “I’ve followed your career a long time,” he said, “And I’m so proud of you.”

Nightwing--he actually blushed, and it was the cutest thing ever.

“And this is one of your biggest fans,” said the guy in the sweats, and I realized he was talking about me, and I came forward and shook Nightwing’s hand (I am not going to wash it for days now). He’s got such graceful fingers, and all I could think was that my hand was so clammy and he probably thought it was totally gross, but he just smiled at me and asked me my name, and signed my autograph book. I can’t even remember what I said to him, I think I said something about him being the best and how he’d always been my favorite, and he smiled and was so beautiful it just took my breath away.

“See, I told you it’d be fine,” said the suit guy as I walked away all dazed. “You did fine.” He smiled. “Have a good show.”

And I did, because--here’s the part you will not believe--when I got to my seat way up near the rafters there was a little note attached to it telling me to go back to the ticket office, and I did, and when I got there they told me my ticket had been upgraded to ringside! It must have been the suit-wearing guy, right? But I have no idea why! Still, I wasn’t going to turn them down, that’s for sure.

So I had one of the best seats in the house, and I got to watch Batgirl fight Cheetah--that was so amazing!--and Green Lantern with Sinestro, and the main event was Nightwing versus Joker, and I swear to God, after he got into the ring he looked at me and he winked, he really did! And I have to say, from the vantage point I had, I can vouch for the fact that he really does have a magnificent--uh, you know. It was so amazing. I had the best seats, and the best experience, and I will love Dick Grayson all my days.

And I’ll love that guy in the suit and his maybe-boyfriend too, whoever they were!
