Heroes of the Squared Circle Meta: Road Trips and Make a Wish

Jul 08, 2013 21:02

The WWE (which is the DCW in Heroes) is the undisputed top of the wrestling food chain (ever since Vince McMahon systematically destroyed any competition through the 80s and 90s...but Mr. McMahon deserves his own post). "The indies" are the lower-budget wrestling promotions that largely at this point serve as the minor leagues for the WWE, but ( Read more... )

I can't blame you. I always found RPF and real-person shipping creepy as hell, and lots of slash ships leave me "rrrrrgh!" at how clear it's just about "oooh they're both so pretty they'd be so smexy together." And yet... I ship Kane/Daniel Bryan. (Not Glen Jacobs/Brian Danielson, but the two characters--they're so blatantly a bickering old married couple. ;)

Kane and Bryan have been so great together, I would not have expected that at all! Jacobs especially seems to be enjoying it so much that it's infectious. :) I friendship them like crazy...

They didn't really expect to be that great a pairing, either, but Jacobs said that he's been absolutely shocked at how much fun he's had with it, because it's been letting him do stuff that's a lot more lighthearted than normal for Kane. The fact that he got a good long run re-establishing the tag titles as meaning somethingis, of course, a bonus, but he genuinely looks like he's five years younger since this run started--and I really do like the big lug, so that makes me happy. The guy's put up with SO many horrible gimmicks (the Christmas Creature back in Memphis, Isaac Yankem D.D.S. the wrestling dentist, Fake Diesel) and SO many horrible storylines (lampshaded BEAUTIFULLY by his telling Dr. Shelby's group about himself!), and yet he's a huge company guy, unshakingly loyal... the guy deserves some reward for that ( ... )

Did he really? I did not know that, and it fills me with joy. (by the way, I was checking his Wikipedia page and at least at one point he was known as "Doomsday"? That has to be better than Doc Yankem--which my husband still insists on calling him whenever he shows up on our screen...)

I've seen DB freaking out about bears! I adore that goofball so much...

Nothing wrong with being in love with Daniel Bryan :) He's not my type personally but your crush on him is adorable. I've loved what little I've seen of team Hell No!

He'd be a lot more my type if the WWE would relent on its "heels have to have ludicrous facial hair" thing, alas! :) Team Hell No was so much fun--and they even had their break-up be non-acrimonious, they're still friends--well, constantly-quarreling friends. Most recently Bryan interfered in one of Kane's matches so Kane wouldn't lose, and Kane was furious at him for interfering, and Bryan got to yell "But I did it for YOU!" with this super-sad look on his face. And then get chokeslammed. Aw, boys. :)

OMG, that part with the balls in the ‘Hug’ vid made me smile. :)

And I totally can understand your ‘crush on Daniel Bryan’ - that guy is pretty amazing!. Loved the Wish and Mets vid - he made the boy happy and you could see Daniel was happy too - awesome video!

Oh and one more thing - that crowd watching the wrestling show was impressive. I admit, I didn’t expect there could be so many ppl watching it. Great! :)

Thank you for sharing this.

Oh my, when they do something kind of sexual like that and the wrestlers just go with it, it makes me love them so much. *grin*

It's so popular here! The big once-a-year show, Wrestlemania, gets record crowds every year. It's a funny thing, isn't it?
