I'm really happy to be back to this world a little! I've been trying to write a long story with them and it just didn't come together, but I'm hoping something else does come up and nibble on me... :)

Cake covered Bruce, Yummy. And Clark questioning Bruce's abilities I still can't believe you managed to disarm that bomb without anyone noticing, all while flailing around in a giant cake. You are absolutely delectable.”
That image only cracks me up, as does Bruce doing a back-flip swan dive into it.
Great story, it totally made my night :D

He really should have done a belly flop! And yet a swan dive is just one of those inherently funny things, I think... :)
Hee! I'm glad I made your night a bit and thank you for the comment!

“Alfred trying to keep a smile” - reading this I was like - WOW it must have been something special when it almost made Alfred smile. :)
Bruce strolled up the stairs to Clark and kissed him on the cheek. “Do you think perhaps we should be going?” Clark asked, stifling a yawn. He knew Bruce could read Shouldn’t Gordon evacuate? in his eyes.
“Now, now, love,” Bruce cooed, leaning on the mezzanine railing and examining the crowd below. “There’s no need to rush! I’m having a lovely evening.” Behind his smile, Clark could see visions of terror, stampedes--perhaps a feint right into Red Claw’s plans, for that matter. “Just a little more time.”
I loved this part! I loved how Clark could see Bruce’s feelings (those ones hidden behind his smile) and how much they loved, trusted and supported each other.
--He grabbed Bruce’s hand. “”The cake,” he hissed.

That's part of what's fun about writing these two in an established relationship! They're so quick to understand each other and act together, it's a wonderful thing...
Hee, I'm glad you liked those lines! I can't imagine that Clark could resist a frosting-covered Bruce, lol... :) And it was fun to open and close with a smiling Alfred, it really made my mood happy to write it!
