Aaaaah.

Bruce makes my heart hurt. A lot. Just... oh, Bruce.

Although, wow. Clark talking to Nolanverse!Joker would be... epically unnerving.

Yeahhhhh, it does boggle the brain, doesn't it? It's one of those things that would fall incredibly flat if it wasn't done just right, and I decided I just wasn't up to it in this series (which is more Bruce's story anyway). But it's a tantalizingly scary thought, isn't it?

Oh goodness! What a crazy stunt. I love Gordon's reaction. He doesn't even let the richest man in the city hold him back from saying what he really thinks. It's no wonder Batman trusts him. I wonder though, if some of Gordon's anger is because he remembers Bruce as a child? What must he think of that crying and scared boy turning into what appears to be an empty and flippant young man.

Also this:

What he needs is salvation. And I'm afraid that cannot be given. Not even by Superman

Is so true and so heartbreaking. Maybe Superman can't save him, but Clark can?

I love movieverse Gordon, he seems so...diffident and retiring, but when he gets angry or passionate, I don't think he cares who he's talking to. And yes, the fact that in this universe they have a bond from that night so long ago...it has to make a difference in his reaction as well.

Is so true and so heartbreaking. Maybe Superman can't save him, but Clark can?

It's the question I've been wrestling with since I saw the movie and wondered how in the world to pull off a crossover! I think I can see how it will work now--and Clark is part of it--but I'm just hoping I can translate my vision into words effectively. *bites nails* Thanks for the encouragement with your thoughtful words!

Gahhh, he breaks my heart in this universe especially, where Bruce is so alone and struggling so much. *pets him gingerly*

Tricksy Clark :) you make me so proud! And Alfred if it wasn't for you Bruce would be breaking my heart more so than he already is!
Great chapter, looking forward as always for more :).

Clark is sneaky and persistent here, he was definitely a joy to write, lol! It's been such a pleasure having Alfred and Clark having a chance to interact as well...

Ooo, now I wonder if Clark will ever get the chance to speak to Joker, and just will he be able to "save" Bruce?

I don't think Clark will get a chance to meet with the Joker first hand in this story, but I have to admit the idea of either Superman or Clark dealing with a Nolan Joker...it's terrifyingly cool... :)
