The comic book based on the cartoon continues to be a fun read! This month's issue features...the wedding of Batman and Wonder Woman! But not to fear if you don't ship BM/WW, it turns out the wedding is caused by a mischievous and angry Eros, who feels Wonder Woman is spending too much time kicking ass and not enough time in love. So he shoots Batman and Wonder Woman, who immediately clinch and decide to get married:
Talia hears of the upcoming wedding, and freaks out in delightfully over-the-top villainous fashion:
As Talia rounds up all the villains, all the heroes arrive for the wedding, including Clark and Dick as Bruce's ushers:
Gorgeous as Diana is there, I can't help but get a chortle out of both Dick and Clark being totally flabbergasted that Bruce is getting married to a woman.
Of course, all hell breaks loose in delightful fashion:
One of the things I like about all-ages comic books is the little "Easter Egg" nods to people who know larger continuity--specifically, in this case, the knowledge that in the main continuity Hal Jordan reluctantly becomes the Spectre for a while in the 90s.
The bride and groom get tired of watching on the sidelines:
And eventually Aphrodite steps in and scolds the chastened Eros, who is chagrined to discover that no matter what, Wonder Woman is always going to want to kick some ass (I approve of this message!)
As the gods leave:
1. Awwww, Batman/Justice OTP!
2. Dick and Clark aren't going to let him hear the end of this are they? ^-^
