This is so creepy. I love how it looks nothing like Superman as I know and understand him (except when they're doing the split-bodied pure Kryptonian logic thing). Looking at this, you can almost see why Lex would feel he has to oppose him. That lack of mercy and nuance, coming from someone supposedly outside our culture is completely chilling.

I do feel Routh's Superman has that kind of...classic, untouchable perfection in his portrayal of Clark. It's part of what's a little off-putting about the movie, although I do think it's meant to hide a very conflicted human. But that Superman in a post-TDK Gotham...it's volatile.

These two obviously aren't those two, but the way you're writing their secretive camaraderie, I can see how they could easily get there.

Oh, I'm so glad you think so! Yes, that scene in NML, GOD. *wibbles* These two are so much closer to friends right from the beginning that I could easily see them getting to that point...

Now I really want Clark to figure it out and to maybe convince Bruce that white knights aren't all they're cracked up to be, or at least make him less frighteningly alone.

Having Bruce conflate Harvey and Superman makes this a real tangled mess, in some ways. Because like Harvey, Superman's more than just a symbol as well! Hmmm, thinky thoughts... *wanders off*

*pops back in* Thank you so much for the awesome and interesting comment!
