In non-scan news, Bruce is back and reunited with Dick and Damian and Alfred! :D His reunion with Tim happens/will happen...before that...in Return of Bruce Wayne 6, which...isn't out yet. D: There will be scans eventually, but this is a special shippy edition of Mithen Scans, featuring Bruce/Clark (with bonus h/c):
And canon Bruce/Selina! Three weeks ago, before Bruce came back for us but after he came back to everyone else (ugh) Bruce donned a super-stealth suit he seems to have made at the end of time and wandered around checking on everyone, trying to figure out what his place in the world is now. His thoughts about Selina are especially poignant and sweet:
He has a flashback to an early adventure (bonus Bruce and Jim hilarity!):
Catwoman steals the Minx, they fight and flirt nicely, and she departs:
There's a long subplot throughout The Road Home that Vicki Vale has figured out all of the Batfamily's secrets. Selina is trying to warn the mysterious costumed guy who hired her to break into her apartment:
Some of the romantic impact of that page is lost for me because of a tiny continuity goof that ties in oddly with the sound effects. It's supposed to be that he touches her face and then goes invisible (the "nzshhh" sound), but because her shirt is zipped in the first panel and unzipped at the end, it seriously looks as though he took the opportunity of her closed eyes to check out her cleavage. "Ah, Selina's cleavage, long time no see. Just checking to make sure you still got it, baby."
On the plus side, Bat/Cat shippers will be happy to hear that it looks like Batman Inc. will be heavily featuring Selina! I know she'll be going to at least Japan and Argentina with him. I've never seen Morrison write Bruce and Selina together and generally romance just isn't his thing, but just the two of them hanging out on international rooftops makes me happy!
I'll wrap up with some final scans from Superman/Batman #75. Levitz's story was mostly about the Legion of Super-Heroes, but it did feature some very nice S/B moments. Oh, also a shirtless Bruce stitching up his own wounds, rowr.
Most of the issue is the Legion trying to find a cure for Superman's wound, but there is some adorable crankiness from Bruce:
And some truly spectacular hurt/comfort fodder. Oh, Bruce's look of alarm in the second panel!
Awwww.
