I've posted these in
worlds_finest in the past, but for the sake of completeness I want to post them in my LJ as well, to link up to the other "
Superman/Batman Scans History" pages.
In 2004, Alex Ross and Chip Kidd got together to tell a short story about Superman and Batman. It's called "The Trust," and it's a Silver-Age setting exploration of the implications of that gifted Kryptonite, and the depth of Clark and Bruce's friendship. It's fantastic stuff, full of action, angst, and Bruce caring about Clark enough to possibly kill him. Who could ask for anything more?
*swoons* Seriously, that sudden direct-address "I'll do it for you" gets me every time.
