"And that’s what you get for falling again, you can never get him out of your head. It’s the way that he makes you feel, it’s the way that he kisses you, it’s the way that he makes you fall in love”----TRUST COMPANY, Pretty Girl
I was reading a Palestinian folktale about a boy who wanted to pick up a feather, and the horse he was riding turned to him and said:
You’ll be sorry if you do, and sorry if you don’t
To which the boy replied:
If I’m going to be sorry either way, I might as well pick it up.
Words to chew on…
Another cool issue, a famous Arab writer, Edward Said (wrote a book on Islam in the media and oreientalism) is coming to Berkeley to speak in two weeks and the Muslims on campus want me to do an interview with him to write an article about him in the Muslim newspaper. I think it was ironic that two girls who are totally Muslim (with the head dress and everything) pick me to represent the community. I know it is because they know I am personable and in that I do not wear the headdress I give legitimacy to the Muslims in a way that I am one, but not conventional. Anyway, I just thought it was interesting how in this, and when I was running for senate I become the Muslim spokesperson..and ya’ll who know me well, kinda know me better than to peg me as that, of all things…interesting
I was sick today, feeling better now, hope to feel even better tomorrow.
Swing Swing, all American rejects!
